im getting another itch to buy another bike. The more I look into it it sounds appealing. A Ducati that's not throttle by wire? A simple machine? Not over powered? What?

2009 Ducati Hypermotard 1100S. Tons of fun in an awesome package. Not sure of what your ideas of 'simple' and 'not overpowered'....my other thought was Honda Grom

that just sounds like the new scrambler.
or....you can go for the poor mans ducati, the venerable suzuki SV650.
not to powerful, everything is manual (unless you spring for an ABS version) they are cheap and the aftermarket is plenty for it.

Yeah, had one of those. Gen 1, a little too rustic for my taste. I have an sv1000, so I already have the over powered bike, thus the desire for something simple.

The grom is a little bit too simple. An intriguing bike though. I wonder if there are from races? Like the cub in India?

try a gen 2. weirdly, the 650s feelt MUCH more sprightly then the 1Ks...little easier to toss around in the corners.
or. you could do a triumph 675. triple, olhins, brembos. doesnt get simpler or nicer then those.

Yeah, I've been thinking about getting a cheap sports bike for track days. Probably a salvage titled gixxer 600 or something of equal status. The desire for a fairly detuned cruising bike for around town has some appeal these days. Ain't gettin rid of the sv1000 though. God damn it sounds like zuesses Thunder. A few upgrades in the suspension/brakes department will change the game.

Unless the Italians have forgotten how to mount tires, it appears that's how they're supposed to be...

Thats a directional tire pointed backwards. I refuse to believe thats correct

I thought the same thing until I noticed the front tire was the same in literally every picture you see of a Scrambler with those tires.

All the major amateur series race them now. WERA and CMRA race them here in the southeast regularly. Two of my buddies modify and race them. They are an absolute blast. And everything for them is cheap! Hi performance camshaft - $90, etc etc..amazing.

It's not mounted backwards. That orientation is correct for the front tire, the opposite is true for a rear tire.
